Walthour Road between Rivermist Lane and Oemler Loop (see map below) will be closed to traffic beginning June 3, 2026, for the Walthour Road Slope Stabilization Project. 

The closure is expected to last up to 120 days, with the road anticipated to reopen no later than October 1, 2026. 

The project will improve safety and protect the roadway near the bridge over Betz Creek by installing a new retaining wall on the west side of Walthour Road and stabilizing the slope on the east side. A new sidewalk will also be constructed as part of the improvements.
